Nouvelle Aquitaine repeats as Bronco Champions

GIJON, Spain (June 10) - Headed into the final day of the Bronco European Zone Championship, two teams entered the day with three wins, Gava (3-1) and Nouvelle Aquitaine (3-0). Nouvelle Aquitaine was scheduled for two games compared to Gava's lone game on Sunday. Before those two teams faced off in the final game of the day, there were three other games on the docket.

Pamplona and Junior kicked off the day and in its final game of the tournament, Pamplona won in a high scoring affair, 10-8. Pamplona finished with a record of 3-2 while Junior dropped to 1-4.

Nouvelle Aquitaine saw its first action of the day against Jabatos. Nouvelle Aquitaine continued its run dominance by taking the game, 11-1. Jabatos remained on the field to face the host team Llano in the final games for both teams. Jabatos flipped the script from its last game and defeated Llano 11-1. Jabatos finished with a record of 2-3 while Llano dropped to 1-4 for the tournament.

The final game of the day turned to what could have been classified as the "Championship Game" between Nouvelle Aquitaine and Gava. Gava, entering the game with a 3-1 record, had a chance to prevent the repeat with a victory. Nouvelle Aquitaine had other plans for the final game of the tournament. In a close game, Nouvelle Aquitaine held a two-run advantage when the final out was recorded. With a 7-5 victory over Gava (3-2), Nouvelle Aquitaine repeated as the Bronco European Zone Champions.
