Day 3 of the 2024 Printscape Pony League World Series
GAME SIX: WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA 3 vs. BRONX, NY 5
Washington County, PA lost to Bronx, NY 5-3 on Sunday.
Washington County, PA were the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run.
Bronx, NY took the lead in the bottom of the second. Angel Garcia doubled, scoring two runs, to give Bronx, NY the lead, 2-1.
Misael Acosta hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the third for the Bronx, NY.
Michael Henriquez earned the win for Bronx, NY. They gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two. Logan DiSilvestro took the loss for Washington County, PA. The right-handed pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering three runs on four hits, striking out five and walking four.
Landon Conn, Washington County, PA's number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Jackson Smith and Coen Phasupong each drove in one run for Washington County, PA. Washington County, PA turned one double play in the game. Washington County, PA were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Bryan Schmeltz had the most chances in the field with four.

GAME SEVEN: MON VALLEY, PA 7 vs. LONG BEACH, CA 4
Despite leading by as many as four runs, Long Beach, CA fell to Mon Valley, PA 7-4 on Sunday.
Long Beach, CA got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after David Sanchez was struck by a pitch, Marc James walked, Jordan Rivers walked, and Diego Gonzalez walked, each scoring one run.
Mon Valley, PA tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a single by Demaris Tolliver, and a ground out by Braylon Schoch.
In the top of the seventh, Mon Valley, PA broke up the tie when Zachary Plymire homered to center field, scoring two runs. Then a solo home run to left field by Jack Crovak followed to extend the lead to 7-4.
Plymire earned the win for Mon Valley, PA. They gave up one hit and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three. Anthony Carrillo took the loss for Long Beach, CA. They went two-thirds of an inning, allowing one run on one hit, striking out one and walking none. Ismael Santillan stepped on the hill first for Long Beach, CA. They surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out none and walking none. Kennedy Nash stepped on the bump first for Mon Valley, PA. They gave up two hits and four runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three.
Gonzalez, Long Beach, CA's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Rivers, Sanchez, and James each drove in one run for Long Beach, CA. Alan Machado stole two bases. Long Beach, CA worked the count all day, collecting eight walks.
Plymire drove the middle of the lineup, leading Mon Valley, PA with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Aj Watson went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Mon Valley, PA in hits. Jesse Sobczak stole two bases.
Mon Valley, PA will play Palmview, TX in Game Nine on Monday, August 12, at 10:00am. Long Beach, CA has been eliminated from the 2024 Printscape Pony League World Series.
GAME EIGHT: GIJON, SPAIN 3 vs. BAY COUNTY, MI 5
Sunday's game against Bay County, MI was a heartbreaker for Gijon, Spain, as they lost the lead late in a 5-3 defeat. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the fifth when Brody Kuhn singled, scoring two runs.
Bay County, MI opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to two singles. Bay County, MI first got on the board when Brenner Gansser singled, scoring one run.
Alex Morales homered to left field, which helped Gijon, Spain tie the game at three in the top of the fifth.
Gansser earned the win for Bay County, MI. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking four. Ronan Combes-Bouet took the loss for Gijon, Spain. The righty went six innings, allowing five runs on 10 hits, striking out five and walking one. Kuhn earned the save.
Morales drove the middle of the lineup, leading Gijon, Spain with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Morales, Sengly Tran Seng, Lila D Hauteville, and Alexandre Shelton each collected one hit for Gijon, Spain. Gijon, Spain turned one double play in the game.
Bay County, MI collected 10 hits in the game. Kuhn provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bay County, MI with two runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-3 on the day. Bay County, MI turned two double plays in the game. Bay County, MI were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Chase Hockman made the most plays with nine.
Bay County, MI will play Washington County, PA in Game Ten on Monday, August 12, at 12:30pm. Gijon, Spain has been eliminated from the 2024 Printscape Pony League World Series.
